Both the Carluccio’s restaurants in Chester and Cheshire Oaks have been saved after the casual-dining chain was bought out of administration by the Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) which owns Giraffe and Ed’s Easy Diner.
Sadly, the administrator has only been able to save 30 out of 70 restaurants nationwide resulting in over 1,000 redundancies elsewhere in the UK.
Phil Reynolds, joint administrator and partner at FRP Advisory said: “The COVID-19 lockdown has put immense pressure on businesses across the hospitality sector, so it’s been imperative to work as quickly and decisively as possible in an unprecedented business environment. The sale secures the future of the Carluccio’s brand in the UK casual dining scene and a considerable number of jobs“.
Managing director of BRG, Satnam Leihal commented: “We welcome Carluccio’s to BRG. This acquisition aligns with our strategy to grow the group with quality brands, during the most challenging time for the sector”
